Who We Are

Children by nature are creative, curious, and aren’t afraid to take risks. These are essential qualities for entrepreneurship.

Produced with Purpose began with the desire to teach children the joys of entrepreneurship, and grew to encompass having them experience what it’s like to plan, think and sell like a business owner.

In 2017, we launched the First Annual Young Entrepreneurs Showcase. Bakers, fashion designers, artists, and jewelry creators – even a video blogger – have participated in our event!

The Produced With Purpose vision was born from a young girl’s determined attitude and community mindset. When Leila Hilliard (pictured on far left) was 10 years old, she decided that she wanted to start a business. She was eager to showcase her interests to the public so that she could begin a successful business career.

When it came time to launch her business, she wasn’t sure how she would be able to get the word out to others. She struggled to find a place where she and other kid-business owners could sell their products to customers in person. In her search, she found that our local community was full of kids that also had dreams of entrepreneurship where they would sell products and services that they enjoyed creating. However, they all had the same challenge. They lacked a venue where they could interact with their customers and physically show pride in what they had created. It was then that she decided that she would make what she wanted a reality and create a marketplace where all kid entrepreneurs could showcase their businesses. With a little help from her two sisters, her parents and her teachers, the groundwork was established for students to create a product or service, develop a brand, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at a one-day marketplace. It was with this plan that Produced With Purpose was born.

The Produced With Purpose mission is to train kid bosses to THINK like entrepreneurs and create a platform where they can bring their products and services directly to the people. What is a kid boss? A kid boss is focused and passionate. A kid boss is strong willed. They decide what goal they want to achieve and go after it. Leila’s vision was one in which kid bosses could tap in to their skills and cultivate businesses that would become prosperous, while also creating a web of kid bosses who would be there to support each other in their pursuits for business success. This vision comes to fruition at the yearly Young Entrepreneurs Showcase, with over 50 kid bosses coming together to do just what 10-year-old Leila had been looking for when she decided to launch a business.

FOR YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS

Do you have a great business idea that you can’t wait to share with the world? At the Young Entrepreneurs Showcase, you’ll experience marketing and selling your products for a profit. How great is that? We’re always looking for new young entrepreneurs currently in grades 3rd through 10th to participate in our event.

Ready to join us? Navigate to the ‘Events’ drop-down bar and begin your journey!

FOR PARENTS

Parents – we need your support too. The purpose of our events is to have children work independently and practice how to plan with an entrepreneurial approach. Upon registering, young entrepreneurs will be required to complete their business plan. Your role is to guide and supervise, but we ask that you commit to letting your children create their products, complete their business plan, and most importantly – shine on their own.
